Use, Care and Storage
Can this urn be kept outside?
All of our pet urns are suitable for outdoor use, but they should be elevated off the ground and protected from water and humidity. Please note that our urns are primarily designed to be kept indoor.
Avoid exposing the urn to rapid temperature changes, such as frequently moving it between indoors and outdoors. Sudden shifts in temperature can cause cracks in ceramic.
How to clean the urn?
Dust Regularly: Use a soft, dry cloth to gently dust the urn and remove any surface dust.
Wipe with a Damp Cloth: For more thorough cleaning, use a cloth dampened with water. Avoid soaking the urn or using excessive moisture.
Avoid Abrasives: Do not use abrasive cleaners, scrubbing pads, or harsh chemicals, as these may damage the urn's finish.
Where should I store the urn?
Choosing where to place a pet urn is a personal decision. Common options include placing the urn in a room where your pet spent a lot of time, displaying it on a mantle, or setting it on a dresser. However, try to keep the urn out of direct sunlight.
Avoid placing the urn in a location where it might be pushed by pets.
Also, keep the urn away from children. While our urns can be a meaningful way to help explain the loss of a pet, they are not toys. Ceramic is fragile and can break easily.
Can this urn be buried?
Our urns are designed for indoor use, but they can be buried if you prefer. Please note that while ceramic will not harm the environment, it is not biodegradable and will not dissolve.

How to order?

- Inner Lining: Decide if you would like to add an Inner Lining to your urn for an extra layer of comfort and protection.
- Quantity: Specify the number of urns you wish to purchase.
- Add to Cart: Once you've made your selections, click "Add to Cart" to proceed with checkout.
- Review Your Order: Carefully review your order details, including the quantity, colors, and any additional options you've chosen.
- Add Shipping and Payment Details: Provide your shipping address and choose your preferred payment method.
- Complete Your Order: Double-check all information and confirm your purchase. You will receive an order confirmation email shortly after.
Can I place something other than cremation ashes in the pet urn?
There are no rules regarding this! You can put anything that fits in the urn, as long as the urn is big enough. Some people prefer to scatter the ashes and use the pet urn as a container for some small personal possessions.
How to place the ashes in the cremation urns?
You should receive the ashes in a plastic bag, or container from the crematorium.
You can use a funnel to carefully transfer the ashes in the pet urn. After transferring the ashes, seal the urn with suitable glue.
If you feel uncomfortable doing this, you can contact a pet crematorium representative to put the ashes in the urn for you.
How to Order Custom Decorated Face by Photo of my Pet?
To order a custom-decorated face for your pet urn, select the "Custom by Photo" option under Face Color.
After making this selection, please contact us at care@tenderresturns.com and send us photos of your pet's face.
Once we receive the photos, we'll begin decorating the urn and keep you updated throughout the process.
Sealing the urn
Permanent sealing
To permanently seal this pet urn, use a glue suitable for ceramic surfaces—any ceramic adhesive will work.
Apply the glue to the urn's opening, place the ceramic cap on top, and allow it to dry for at least 15 minutes.
Please note that attempting to open the urn afterward may cause damage.
Temporary Sealing
If you wish to scatter part of the ashes or transfer them to another urn, you can temporarily seal this pet urn using wax, silicone sealant, or another temporary adhesive.
However, please note that this urn is designed for permanent sealing, and we are not responsible for any loss of ashes due to improper sealing.
Is glue included with the urn?
Due to shipping and customs restrictions, we are unable to provide glue. However, any adhesive suitable for ceramic surfaces will work effectively. You can easily find these at supermarkets, hardware stores, and other local retailers.
Do I need a bag for the ashes?
We recommend using an inner lining for added convenience. This option allows you to pour the ashes directly into the urn. Alternatively, you can use a bag, but please note that the urn opening is approximately 1 inch (2.5 cm) in diameter.
Inner Lining
What is Inner Lining?
While ceramic is a unique and elegant material, it does have its vulnerabilities. It is quite delicate, and accidental damage can lead to an unpleasant experience, such as ashes becoming mixed with ceramic debris, which is difficult to clean.
INNER LINING® addresses this concern with a protective, thin, white, rubber-like layer. This lining is applied to the inner surface of the urn and serves to keep the ashes contained in the event of any mishap.
How to purchase INNER LINING?
INNER LINING® is an optional addition for our pet urns and can be purchased through our website. It requires an additional business day for application and costs $50. To include INNER LINING® with your order, simply select the "YES" option after you choose spacesuit color and face color of your urn.
How do I know if INNER LINING is applied to my order?
The inner lining is a rubbery layer on the inside of the urn. You can feel it with your finger, or a small section can be scraped off with a sharp object, though we do not recommend doing so.

Pet Urn Capacity
Each of our urns has a capacity of 100 in³ (7 cups or 1.7 liters).
This size can accommodate the ashes of a pet weighing up to 100 lbs (45 kg) before cremation, making it suitable for all cat breeds and nearly all dog breeds.
Will this pet urn fit all the ashes?
This pet urn can hold the ashes of a pet weighing up to 100 lbs. prior cremation or several smaller pets.
This is large enough to fit all of the ashes of any cat and almost all dog breeds.
The typical rule of thumb is that one pound of pet body weight equals one cubic inch of cremated remains.
1 lbs body weight = 1 cubic inch of remains
25 lbs pet = 25 cubic inch urn needed
Do you offer different sizes of the TenderRest urn?
Currently, we offer only one standard size for our urns. However, we will update you if we introduce additional sizes. To stay informed, please subscribe to our mailing list.
Personalisation
Can this pet urn be personalised?
Yes, all of our pet urns include a designated area (on the front part of the spacesuit) for engraving a personal message. You can include up to 30 characters (including spaces and symbols) across two rows. To request your engraving, please leave a note at checkout or email us at care@tenderresturns.com with your desired text.
Is it possible to have my nameplate left unpersonalized and unattached?
We typically glue the nameplate to the urn, but if you prefer, we can leave it unattached or unengraved so you can personalize it yourself later. Just let us know in the notes at checkout or email us at care@tenderresturns.com Please note that we use laser engraving, so you will need a laser machine for future personalization.
What if I accidentally made a mistake in the nameplate text?
We can provide a replacement nameplate with the correct text for $35. To install the new nameplate, you can carefully remove the old one and attach the new one in its place. Alternatively, you can place the new nameplate over the old one.
To remove the old nameplate, gently heat it with a lighter and use a flat screwdriver or another flat tool to pry it off.

Shipping & Handling
Do you ship worldwide?
We ship worldwide, including to the USA, Canada, Europe, UK, Japan and Australia.
Our worldwide free shipping is handled by UPS and typically takes 3-5 business days.
An express shipping option (1-2 business days) is available at checkout (extra $60).
Do you offer Express Shipping?
At checkout, you can select an express shipping option for delivery within 1-2 business days at an additional cost of $60.
Please note that the shipping time begins after the handling period, which typically takes 1 business day.
UPS does not pick up orders on weekends (Saturday and Sunday), so if you place an order on Friday, it will be shipped on Monday.
Are Duty Taxes or Import Taxes included?
Import duties and local taxes (if such apply) are NOT included in the delivery cost and are the customer's responsibility.
For EU there will be no duty taxes, as we are based in EU.
For USA import taxes are due only for items with value over 800$.

How can I track my order?
Once your order has been sent out, you will receive an email confirmation containing a unique order number. With this number, you can track the progress of your shipment by visiting the UPS website and entering your order number into their tracking system.

Policies & Returns
What If I receive damaged goods?
If you receive a damaged or defective product, we are pleased to offer a replacement or refund. It is important to inspect goods immediately for damage, preferably in the presence of the courier, and report any issues to us within 12 hours, referencing the order number.
Please note that damage or defects caused by accident, misuse, or neglect by the customer are not covered under this policy.
Additionally, we do not accept returns or exchanges due to the urn being too small for holding ashes or if another color preference arises after receiving the urn. All product capacities and dimensions are detailed in the listing description on our website.

Customers are entitled to cancel and return their order within 31 days only in cases where the product is damaged during transport or found to be defective.
How can I return an order?
Upon contacting us, we will provide you with a return label and insructions. Alternatively, you may choose to use a courier of your preference.

It is crucial to mark the item as a low-value return to avoid potential import taxes and customs complications.
To prevent damage during return transit, please package the product securely as received. Once we receive the item, we will promptly assess it and proceed with a refund or exchange as per your preference.
Please note that UPS is our preferred courier for returns, as we typically use their services.
What is your refund policy?
The purchase amount of products returned according to our Returns Policy will be refunded to the payment source (i.e. credit card / paypal) used to place the order in 14 business days.
Your refund will be for the actual purchase price of the item. For example, if you return an item purchased as part of a sale or promotion, you will receive a refund for the actual amount paid, not the total retail price of the item.Damaged or missing parts of the product would result in non-refund.
